Full Gameplay No Commentary
1. Understand the Illusion of Randomness
At first, dropping into a random cell feels like pure luck. It's not. Before selecting a row, analyze the worst case scenario. If 3 out of 4 cells are lethal and you have 1 HP, don't risk it.
- Safe row: 2+ empty cells or Bubble cells
- Risky row: 1 empty + 3 threats (only with Arrow or Sun Power ready)
- Death row: 3+ lethal cells (never select)
2. The Blacksmith is Mandatory
Magic Level 4 is the single most important milestone in the entire game.
The Blacksmith appears in Dungeon room 10 and Ocean room ~60. Always upgrade Magic unless playing Knight.
Magic 4 grants:
- Complete Black Hole immunity
- Automatic Mimic detection (no more surprise chest deaths)
3. Hoard Arrows for Bosses
Arrows are your "get out of jail free" card. Never use an Arrow to grab a chest or avoid a regular trap. Save every single Arrow for:
- Boss fights
- Rows where literally every cell is lethal
4. Start with The Knight
The Knight's high HP buffer forgives beginner mistakes. Read the full Knight guide and unlock him first, then experiment with other characters.
5. Bubbles > Arrows for Regular Rooms
Bubble costs 10 gold and blocks one monster attack. Arrow costs 35 gold and guarantees position. For regular rooms, buy Bubbles.
6. The Merchant Secrets
- Pull her nose (first time only): free steal
- Bomb the Merchant: steal everything, but no more shops
- Dice reroll: once per visit
7. Stone Teeth Danger Threshold
Never stack more than +20% total trap attraction. Beyond this, the math becomes impossible.
8. Star Bucket Insurance
Deposit gold before every boss. If you die, it transfers to permanent progression.
9. Hand Traps (Biome 4)
Hand Traps grab but don't instantly kill. Immediately select a different row to escape.
10. The Lizard Egg (Worth the Effort)
Biome 1/2 Merchant → buy Egg → carry to Biome 3 → hatches into The Lizard (corner teleport, cooldown 2). See the Lizard unlock guide.
